Closings or changes in our schedule due to weather are posted at WTOP.com and on our school Facebook page.  There will also be a recording announcing any changes at 703-796-6887. We do not always follow the county schools.  In the event that we are prevented from posting an announcement due to interruptions in phone or internet service, parents should still be able to find our status by listening to WTOP or by checking WTOP.com.

The school year schedule includes 173 days.  Five additional days have been scheduled for weather related closings.  The year will end early if all these days are not needed.  If this causes the last day to fall on a Monday, we will conclude the year on the previous Friday instead.  In the unexpected event of more than five snow closings, the days may or may not be rescheduled at the discretion of the school.

Summer Camps

Camps for Grades 1-6, Kg. and Pre-Kg. meet 8:30 AM-3 PM.
Summer Extended Day is open 8:30 AM-5:45 PM.  2012 Summer camps will be held June 25 through August 17.  Wednesday, July 4 we will be closed.

June 6 - Last Day of School (Adjusted to June 6 due to unused now days.)

Teacher Meetings (Staff and Teachers Only):  There will be four evening meetings during the year.  These will be scheduled later.  Teachers’ work day will be held the day after the last day of school.
